    Season End

    Friday, May 18, 2007, 05:59 PM [General]

The Radcliffe Rugby season came to a great end with a decisive victory over the ladies of U-Mass Amherst. Although the ref was a sodding idiot, both teams gritted out our first and only full-length game of the season. Radcliffe was a little intimidated by U-Mass' 45 person team, having only 16 players ourselves. Our tight head prop called in sick and we had to substitute a flanker. Still, our scrum held up and our back three had an amazing series of counters against their full-back's long kicks.

This was also my last game with Radcliffe, since I'm graduating this month, so it was bittersweet, but it was great to go out on a win. I even earned myself a great black eye that I got to sport at my brother's wedding later that week. The family was not as amused as I was. ah well.

So ends my college rugby  career. Now to find rugby for the summer. If anyone knows about rugby happening in northern Minnesota, let me know.
